Rockchip RK3566 / RK3568 (RK35xx series) – MIPI CSI-2 Driver Operation

RK35xx-series chips provide a single MIPI CSI-2 receiver with up to 4 data-lanes (or dual 2-lane interface depending on board design). PHY supports up to 2.5 Gbps per lane, and lane count is defined in device-tree. The same Rockchip media driver stack (rkcif_mipi_dphy / CSI-2) is used as on RK3588. Sensor binding, V4L2 sub-device registration, power sequencing, and device-tree configuration follow the same pattern as RK3588. However, due to fewer lanes and simpler PHY/CSI resources, RK35xx is suited for single-camera or low-to-medium resolution multi-camera use, rather than large multi-camera AI vision arrays. RK35xx (e.g. RK3566, RK3568) is widely used on boards like Quartz64, Pine64 SOQuartz, and various industrial panels for cost-sensitive, moderate-resolution vision tasks.
