GMSL3 to MIPI Deserializer Board

The GMSL3 to MIPI Deserializer Board converts GMSL3 serialized video streams into MIPI CSI-2 output. It supports two independent GMSL3 camera links at 12 Gbps, and its onboard GMSL3 de-serializer aggregates both camera links into a single 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 output, delivered to the host processing platform through a single 22-pin FPC connector.

The board connects GMSL3 cameras directly, and LVDS cameras from Sony, Tamron, KT&C, Videology, Wonwoo and Skoopia through a serializer board. The two GMSL3 camera channels operate independently, Power over Coax (PoC) is supported, and the board is backward compatible with 6 Gbps / 3 Gbps GMSL2. MATE-AX dual coax connectors with breakout cables to FAKRA are used for the camera links.

Supported host platforms are the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit and Raspberry Pi 5. The board runs on a wide-range 12–24V DC input with reverse-voltage and transient-voltage protection and power-status LEDs, comes in a compact 50 × 50 mm form factor, operates from –20°C to +85°C, and is RoHS compliant.

FAQs

What does the GMSL3 to MIPI Deserializer Board do?

It converts GMSL3 serialized video streams into MIPI CSI-2 output. An onboard GMSL3 de-serializer aggregates two camera links into a single 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 output for the host processing platform.

How many cameras can I connect?

Two. The board supports two independent GMSL3 camera links, and the two camera channels operate independently.

Which host platforms are supported?

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit and Raspberry Pi 5. The board connects to the host through a single 22-pin FPC connector carrying 4-lane MIPI CSI-2.

Can I use LVDS block cameras with this board?

Yes, through a serializer board. LVDS cameras from Sony, Tamron, KT&C, Videology, Wonwoo and Skoopia connect to the LVDS to GMSL3 Serializer Board, which sends the video over GMSL3 to this deserializer.

Is it compatible with GMSL2 cameras?

Yes. The board supports 12 Gbps GMSL3 operation and is backward compatible with 6 Gbps / 3 Gbps GMSL2.

Can the board power the cameras over the coax cable?

Yes. The board supports Power over Coax (PoC).

Which connectors does the board use?

MATE-AX dual coax connectors with breakout cables to FAKRA for the GMSL3 camera links, and a single 22-pin FPC connector for the MIPI CSI-2 connection to the host.

What power supply does the board need?

The board accepts a wide-range 12–24 V DC input, with reverse-voltage and transient-voltage protection and power-status LEDs.

When will documentation and drivers be available?

Product manuals and driver packages for this board are coming soon. In the meantime, contact technical support at support@oppila.in for integration help.
