AI-Ready Camera Pipeline
RZ/V2 retains the same CSI-2 + VIN/ISP architecture (CRU/CSI2). According to Renesas documentation, the MIPI CSI-2 interface supports 1/2/4 lanes with up to 1.5 Gbps per lane. Sensor modules with MIPI-CSI-2 from third-party camera-module makers are listed as compatible. Thus, for RZ/V2-based designs, one can expect similar pipeline behavior as RZ/G2: V4L2 async sub-devices, media-controller graph, device-tree CSI bindings, support for common sensor formats (RAW, YUV, etc.). Realistic camera use cases include single- or few-camera systems such as industrial vision, surveillance, or edge-AI, provided that camera modules are validated and board design (lane, power, clocks) is correct. Because the CSI2 + VIN + ISP driver core is common, the same kernel driver (renesas-csi2 / rzg2l-csi2) works across multiple variants; only device-tree overlays and board-level configurations need adaptation.
